Nidhi Swarup
SHREENATHJI
Shri Nathji is the main svarupa in Pushti Marg and hundreds of pilgrims visit him every day in his temple in Nathdwara Rajasthan. He gives his intimate devotees the experience of his inner reality, also he is also the liberator of all types of souls. Shri Vitthalnathji explained to his disciple that, “Shri Nathji is the supreme Lord of the lila. He stands by the cave on the Govardhan Hill with his raised left hand.
His closed right rests on His hip and contains His hidden nectar essence. Shri Nathji’s left first manifested on top of the Govardhan Hill in 1410 A.D. In 1479, when Shri Mahaprabhuji appeared, Shri Nathji’s face manifested from Capitol Hill .In 1493 A.D. Shri Nathji called Shri Mahaprabhuji in Jharkhand to come to the sacred hill and establish his seva. When Shri Mahaprabhujiand his party reached the Govardhan Hill, Mahaprabhuji climbed the Hill and embraced Shri Nathji. As per the suggestion Shree Mahaprabhuji established his worship and embellished ShriNathji with a dhoti garment, gunja bead necklace and peacock feathers. He named Him Gopalji, keeper of the cows. Shri Gusainji’s called Him Shri Govardhan Nathji and his son later called Him, Shri Nathji, a reputation which continues to be used.
Construction of Shri Nathji’s temple took 20 years to complete which started in 1500 A.D. Shri Vallabhacharya returned to the Govardhan Hill to put in Shri Nathji in His new temple. While Shri Nathji resided in Braja, He had to be moved 3 times to guard Him from the Mughal forces. In the ruling of the emperor Akbar, he stopped all destruction and looting hindu temples and during his rule, Shri Gusainji found the proper environment to enhance the modes of divine worship that are still emulated and practiced today in Shri Nathdvara and other centers of Pushti worship.
SHREE NAVNITPRIYAJI
This is a form of child Krishna who crawls on the floor and who likes eating butter. A woman found this swarup in the Yamuna river near Mahavan and presented to shri Vallabhacharya which called Navnitpriyaji swarup afterwards. Shri Gusainji daily worshipped this Svarupa in Gokul and he presented it to his son Shree Girdharji. On most of the festivals, Navanitpriyaji sits with Shreenathji, and also enjoys his own separate Haveli just next to Shreenathji.
As Shri Vitthalnathji explains, Shri Navnitpriyaji resides with his mother Jashoda. Shri Navnitpriyaji is the infant swarup of shri krishna who plays in front of Jashoda.
SHREE MATHURANATHJI
Shri Mathuranathji may be a four-armed dark sort of Shri Krishna. In Shri Vallabhacharya’s presence, the devotee Padmanabhdas sees Shri Mathuranathji very tall from the banks of the Yamuna river. He then became sufficiently small to take a seat on the devotee master’s lap. Shri Mathranathji swarupa then presented to Shri Mahaprabhuji and Shri Gunsaiji and at last given to his eldest son Shree Girdharji, who later presented Him to his youngest son, Shree Gopinathji.
At the time of Aurangzeb’s reign, Mathuranathji moved to Rajasthan and today resides in Kotah.
“When Shri Krishna started to herd cows this young form is called Shri Mathuranathji. One day, Shri Mathuranathji went out together with his friends to the Gopis’s homes to steal butter. Once Shree Krishna caught at Shri Svamini’s home while he was stealing butter When Shri Svaminiji quietly came in and grabbed the Shri Krishna with both hands and said, “You are caught today“. Now I will bring You before Yashoda and Nandlal and tell them all about your stealing.
“When Swaminiji caught Shri Krishna he exhibited two additional arms and prayed to Swaminiji with folded hands, that ‘I am under your control. Always keep me with you. I hold this snail conch in my low right hand because it is like your neck. In my other lower hand I hold a lotus because your face is like of a lotus. In My upper left, I hold the mace because it's just like your breast. My upper right-hand holds the discus. It is like the bells on your belt. The bangles on your wrist, I worship them and put them on my very own wrist. So please allow me to go now.’ When She did, he gave her a taste of his sweet lips.
SHREE VITTHALNATHJI
Shri Vitthalnathji was found within the river Ganga by monk who presented him to Shri Mahaprabhuji on the day his second son, was born so Gunsaiji is also known as Vithhalnathji. Shri Vallabhacharya named both his son and therefore the Krishna Svarupa Shri Vitthalnathji. Shri Vitthalnathji then presented to Shri Gusainji’s son Shri Govindji. In 1581 A.D. the Svarupa of Shri Vithhalnathji was taken to Rajasthan's small town of Khimnor. After Shri Nathji moved to Nathdwara, Shri Vitthalnathji was also brought there and a separate mansion was built for Him by Shri Harirayaji.
Shri Vitthalnathji may be a small golden-coloured Svarupa together with his hands resting on His hips. He is joined by one Svamini. She always resides on His left. Shri Gusainji explains their divine nature.
“When Gopis adored Shri Katyayani Devi as to secure Shri Krishna as their husband, Shri Krishna came to the banks of Yamuna river, stole their clothes and climbed up a Kadamba tree. This is the form of Shri Vitthalnathji. He remains absorbed within the bhava of Shri Svaminiji which is why He became Her golden colour. If Shri Vitthalnathji appeared by the banks of the Yamuna river adorned as Dark Krishna, all the Gopis would have recognized Him and He wouldn't are able to steal their clothes. The Gopis were too shy to emerge from the water to receive their garment. Shri Vitthalnathji returned the Gopi’s clothes and made all of the divine. That is the lila of Shri Vitthalnathji.”
SHREE DWARKANATHJI
Shri Dwarkanathji may be a four –armed dark Krishna Svarupa. Shri Dwarkadhish appeared in past from the Bindu Lake and was worshipped by the sage Kapildevaji. During the days of Shri Vallabhacharya, the Blessed Lord seemed to the tailor Narayana during a dream and told him to retrieve His Svarupa from a broken shrine at Mount Abu in Rajasthan. Later Shri Vallabhacharya instructed Damodardas Sambharval to get Shri Dwarkadhish from the tailor Narayana and to start His seva.
The Lila of Shri Dwarkanathji appears when He plays hide-and-seek with Shri Radha and therefore the other Gopis. As Shri Vitthalnathji explains, “At the time of ras lila when Shri Krishna danced with the Gopis, the shape of Shri Dwarkanathji seemed by the banks of the Yamuna river. Then Shri Dwarkadhish, together with his tow lotus hands, covered Shri Svamini’s eyes then manifested two additional hands and pleased Her together with his flute playing. Shri Dwarkadhish’s lila is filled with nectar.”
Shri Dwarkanathji’s lower right holds a lotus, which is taken into account to be Radha’s palm trying to push Shri Krishna’s hand faraway from her eye. His upper right hand holds a mace, and is said to represent Radha’s hand moving up to embrace Him. The upper left hand holds a discus, representing the impressions left by Radha’s bracelets during her embrace. The lower left hand holds a conch. It reminds Shri Krishna of Radha’s neck. Shri Dwarkanathji was given back to Shri Mahaprabhuji and later when all of the seven images were distributed, Shri Dwarkanathji was presented to Shri Gusainji’s third son Shri Balkrishnaji.
During the days of Aurangzeb, Shri Dwarkanathji was moved to Ahmedabad in 1670 A.D. and then installed during a palatial mansion in Kankaroli Rajasthan near Nathdvara in 1720 A.D. where He has remained ever since.
SHREE GOKULNATHJI
Shri Gokulnathji may be a small golden Krishna Svarupa with two Svaminis, one on all sides. He holds the Govardhan hill by right hand while the lower left-hand holds a conch. He plays a flute together with his other two hands. The Swaminis on either side is Chandravali and Shri Radha.
Shri Gokulnathji was presented to Shri Mahaprabhu Ji when he married which was originally belonged to the family of his wife. During Aurangzeb’s regime, Shri Gokulnathji was moved to Jaipur, but within the mid-nineteenth century He was taken back to Gokul and enshrined in Haveli which is believed to possess been constructed around 1511 A.D.
As explained by Shri Gusainji, “Shri Gokulnathji appeared when Shri Krishna lifted the Giriraj hill and guarded all the Braja basis against the heavy rain. He picked Capitol Hill up together with his left then held it together with his right and played the flute together with his other two hands and filled all the residents of Braja with nectar. Sometimes He even held Capitol Hill with the top of his flute. Shri Gokulnathji’s lower left holds the conch, the divine sort of water.”
Gusainji then presented this Swarup to his fourth Son Shree Gokulnathji.
SHREE GOKULCHANDRAMAJI
Shri Gokulchandramaji is that the Moon of Gokul and stands during a tribhangi posture, bent in three places, His legs crossed at the ankles. He is poised to play the flute. A Kshatriya woman found Him and Shri Navanita Priyaji within the Yamuna river while she was on her thanks to Mahavana. She presented the Svarupas to Shri Vallabhacharya who then established Shri Gokulchandraji within the home of his follower Narayana Brahamchari. After he gave up the ghost , Shri Gokul Chandramaji returned to Shri Vallabhacharya’s family and Shri Gusainji later entrusted Him to his fifth son, Shri Raghunath.
During Aurangzeb’s reign, shri Gokulchandramaji was taken to Jaipur then in 1687 A.D. Thu ruler Sardar Singh was a great devotee and he moved Shri Gokulchandramaji to Bikaner Rajasthan. Shri Gokulchandraji resided there for 6 years then was taken to Kamvan in Vraja, where He resides today.
Shri Gusainji explains lila of this swarup as, “Shri Gokulchandramaji entices even the Love-God, the enchanter of all other hearts. When Shri Krishna disappeared from the Gopis they cried for his or her Beloved. Then Shri Krishna appeared before them as Shri Gokulchandramaji with a stunning from bent in three places. He danced the Rasa Lila with the Gopis and played the flute and gave all the bhaktas of Vrindavan a present of His own nectar. All seven holes of Shri Krishna’s flute are his six divine virtues and His dharmi aspect wherein he contains the other six virtues. Shri Krishna places His fingers over those gaps of flute and consoles the bhaktas,” i'm under the control of your loving devotion. I will always be in debt to you .’Shri Gokulchandramaji also makes Rasa Lila and His appearance is filled with divine elements.”
SHREE BALKRSHNALALJI
One day when Shree Vallabcharya was taking bath in Shree Yamunaji a infant idol gripped his janoy and asked Mahaprabhuji to took him out.
Shree Mahaprabhuji took him out and named this idol as Shree Balkrishnalalji.
Shree Vitthalnathji then presented this swarup to his 6th Son Shree Yadunathji, Shree Balkrishnalalji depicts the Infant Krishna as putna moksha mentioned within the of Shrimad Bhagwad.
The Shyam image seems to crawl in the lap of Shree Jashodaji and holds a lump of butter in his right hand.
This image of Shree Balkrishnaji has been in Surat since quite 300 Years.
SHREE MADAN MOHANJI
Shri Madan Mohanji was presented to Shri Vitthalnathji’s youngest son Shri Ghan Shyamji. Shri Madan Mohan, a little golden-coloured sort of shri Krishna playing the flute is amidst his Svamini, (Shri Radha). Shri Madan Mohan currently resides in Kama Rajasthan. Shri Gusainji describes his form and lila.
“There is Madan Mohanji. His bhava is found deep within the lila bower where many various sorts of lilas are made. Billions of affection gods are put to shame by the only great thing about Shri Madan Mohanji. Shri Madan Mohanji makes many types of lilas. He plays the flute, calls the Braja bhaktas and then appears before them and arouses their Krishna awareness.
In the Path of Grace, the bhavas of Krishna’s forms, His lilas and various divine moods are the most subject-matters and will always be contemplated. Then the guts turns divine and becomes bound by Shri Krishna.
